Guiding Light is a 2D top down strategic survival co-op game that harmonizes resource management with survival to defeat the poltergeist and survive.

Gameplay Breakdown
Two brothers work together to power up four generators given by the order of the main generator in the middle of the room with their flashlights. Once all generators are powered up, the lights in the basement power on, damaging the poltergeist in the process. Obviating the survivors from doing this, the poltergeist must thwart the survivors by scaring or fainting them to win.
Story:
Two brothers venture off carefree into an abandon warehouse in hopes of obtaining paranormal research. As they begin to investigate the basement of the warehouse, they are blocked off by an unknown force, preventing them from leaving the basement. Cornered by this entity, the brothers must find their way out through the guidance of light.
Core Mechanics:
Two brothers(Survivors):
Illumination:
- Power up four generators given in order by the main generator in the middle of the room by using their flashlight. Successfully finding and powering up all four generators, illuminates the basement and damages the poltergeist.
- Failing to power all generators within the time limit will cause a blackout. Players will have to power generators in the darkness.
Vampire's Exposure:
- Damage the poltergeist for three damage ticks. Illuminating the basement by powering all four generators damages the poltergeist for one damage tick.
- Damage and stun the poltergeist by shining their flashlight in the direction of the poltergeist, exposing their location temporarily (counts as one damage tick)
Poltergeist(Enemy):
- Cloak in the Dark: Invincible to the survivors. The poltergeist appears invisible on the survivors cameras Appears on the survivors camera only if damaged by any source of light
- Paralyze: Collide with the players to paralyze them, causing them to faint and become stunned.
